Incus Receives HK$ 984K Grant to Trial Innovative Hearing Aids
Incus has been granted HK$ 984,035 to carry out a Public Sector Trial Scheme project in Hong Kong.
During the project, which is titled “Trial: Incus Smart Hearing Aid Prototypes and Samples,” we will carry out trials with our new and innovative hearing aid products with an NGO partner in Hong Kong.
The project is a great opportunity to collect feedback from end-users, their caregivers and the public sector in general. The trials also provide the right set of circumstances to test the efficacy of new features that later will be included in products available to the general public. The ultimate goals of the trials are to test the viability of widespread adoption of the products in the local public sector and to commercialize some of the outcomes of our audio technology research.
The project will last for one year, and the partnering NGO will get to keep all the prototypes and samples free of charge for continued use.
The Public Sector Trial Scheme is an Innovation and Technology Fund funding scheme managed by the Innovation and Technology Commission of Hong Kong.

Hearing aid dispensers are qualified to develop hearing-loss compensation programs to fit the hearing-loss levels and psychological needs of hearing-impaired patients. Hearing aid dispensers utilize their in-depth skills and knowledge of both hardware and software to select and fit a suitable hearing aid for the patient. They are also able to verify that the hearing aid works as intended and provide after-sales care.

Team members from our Research and Product departments participated in training in Guangzhou, China. Topics covered included professional ethics, fundamentals of audiology, as well as both theoretical and practical knowledge about hearing care and hearing aids. Incus will incorporate these pieces of knowledge and skills into the research and product design processes to ensure that our products follow the industry standards and are designed to meet the needs of end-users, hearing aid dispensers and audiologists.

Incus attended CES for the first time
Together with 19 other Hong Kong start-ups, we exhibited at the Hong Kong Pavilion at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Organized annually, CES is the world’s leading exhibition for consumer electronics and took place from January 7th to January 10th. CES 2020 attracted media, buyers, investors and industry professionals from across the world and let us explore the overseas market potential of our solutions for the hard-of-hearing.

Over the course of the four days, we showcased Rouge, which is a Special Edition model that is simultaneously a piece of jewelry and a Personal Sound Amplification Product (PSAP). Rouge was presented at Buckingham Palace in London in December last year.

There was a lively atmosphere in the exhibition hall, making it an excellent environment for demonstrating how Incus’ Intelligent Noise Reduction technology can offer a comfortable listening experience – even in noisy environments.
This was our first time at CES. It was great to hear the thoughts of potential customers and exchange ideas with industry professionals. We had an unforgettable time and look forward to coming back for future editions.
